Some qualifying courses do not permit spectators. Please check in advance with club.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM PARENTS & SPECTATORS
  1. Stay a minimum of 50 yards away from competitors (i.e. walk ahead of the group)
  2. Do NOT give advice*
  3. Do not walk in the fairway (Parents must stay on cart paths when present)
  4. Help spot balls
  5. You may carry food, water, medicine, umbrella, etc.
  6. Parents should encourage their son/daughter to write thank you notes
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE GAO
  1. Professionally-run tournaments
  2. Friendly, courteous staff and volunteers
  3. Certified Rules Officials at all Championships
  4. Strict enforcement of Pace of Play & Code of Conduct
  5. Positive competitive experience
* "Advice" is any counsel or suggestion that could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke.
Rule 8-1. Advice; Indicating Line of Play
 
During a stipulated round, a player must not:
(a) give advice to anyone in the competition playing on the course other than his partner, or
(b) ask for advice from anyone other than his partner or either of their caddies.
Any conversation between parents and/or spectators and a player on the course may be construed as a violation of Rule 8-1.
With regard to this rule, players are responsible for the actions of their parents and/or coach.
 
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE:
Match play — Loss of hole; Stroke play — Two strokes.
