Port Carling, ON – David Byrne of Essex, Ontario left 63 other golfers in his wake en route to capturing his second consecutive Men’s Match Play Championship title today at the Lake Joseph Club in Port Carling, Ontario. The 20 year old Larente, a “I knew it wasn’t going to be easy going into the match,” says Byrne. “I’ve played against Brad at a number of events before and he makes some quality shots when his back is against the wall.” Byrne considers his experience at the Lake Joseph Club the determining factor in his win, having captured the Match Play at the same course in 2007. “It feels great to have won here twice – the practice has definitely paid off.” Byrne was ranked as the top men’s amateur player in
