Competition will be in two stages:

1.

SECTIONAL QUALIFYING – 18 holes of stroke play for all players except those exempt at selected courses throughout Ontario.

NOTE:  There are no official practice rounds arranged by the GAO at qualifying sites.

2.

CHAMPIONSHIP – 144 players eligible, including those exempt. 36-holes of stroke play for all players to determine the low 60 players and ties for an additional 36 holes of stroke play.

 

 

Monday, June 2 – Practice Round (Call club for starting time)

 

 

Tuesday June 3 – First Round, 18 Holes

 

 

Wednesday June 4 – Second Round, 18 Holes

CUT:  60 lowest scorers and any tying for 60th place continue play June 5; remainder eliminated after 36 holes.  For June 5 starting times, check www.gao.ca.

 

 

Thursday June 5 – Final Round, 18 Holes

 

 

Lowest scorer for 54 Holes will be champion.  In the event of a tie for the championship, the winner will be determined by a hole-by-hole sudden death playoff. The playoff holes and their order of play will be determined by the GAO and announced prior to the completion of the championship.

   

FIRST PLACE (AGE 40 AND OVER) The lowest scorer Age 40 and over  for 54 holes will be recognized as the winner of the Mid Master division (age 40 and over).  In the event of a first place tie, the winner will be determined by a hole-by-hole sudden death playoff between those players tied for first place. The playoff holes and their order of play will be determined by the GAO and announced prior to the completion of the championship.
